Gateway Fees & Deposits
Fullsteam Payments
Fullsteam Payments will offer competitive, negotiable rates for all transactions that take place through our in-house gateway for our US clients. If you would like to switch to Fullsteam Payments check out Switching to Fullsteam Payments.
Fullsteam Payments vs Stripe Deposits
Wineries can expect to see two different deposits going into bank accounts. Since Stripe will be handling payments such as Apple and Google pay they will be deposited separately from rest of transactions that are done through Fullsteam Payments.
Stripe deposits will have fees debited from account after they have been deposited into account.
Payment Devices & Hardware
All devices must be purchased through Commerce7. This is important as devices are set up with a specific key and won't work if used from other payment gateways.
- IMPORTANT! Review the Return and Exchanges terms here.
- Once you have reviewed the Returns and Exchanges terms, please Fill out this form. Once submitted, the C7 team will place your order for you.

Returns/Exchanges/Replacements of Hardware
The below is a simplified summary. Please refer to your Sub-merchant Processing Agreement for more details, on page 20 - Exhibit A. You can download a copy of your sub-merchant agreement in the application portal.
Purchased Hardware
Purchases have a one year warranty (detailed below):
- Provider gives a one (1) year warranty, starting on the date of shipment, that the Hardware will be free from errors in workmanship - or defects in materials. (Please refer to sub-merchant agreement for specifications on approved causes for terminal replacements)
- If the Merchant returns Hardware which it bought from Provider
within forty-five (45) days of purchase in original condition and never used or opened, provider will credit the Merchant the purchase price less a restocking fee of $150 per device. - Provider cannot accept Hardware for credit after 45 days of the date of shipment to the Merchant or if the device packaging has been opened.
- Can the Merchant swap a purchased device for different one? No. Instead, the Merchant would return the existing device (provided that the return follows the rules above) - and then order a different device.
Leased Hardware
- Initial Leases are for (1) year and renew 90 days before the end of the lease period on an annual basis. Ex. Lease begins January 1st 2023, you must notify provider by October 1st 2023 that you wish to terminate the lease agreement (90 days notice).
- If a Merchant requests new hardware (outside of inoperability/warranty), a new lease or purchase agreement must be entered.
- If a Merchant wishes to end an existing lease, they must provide notification 90 days prior to the end of the existing lease to prevent any further fees. At that point, they may enter a new processing/lease agreement.
- Leased devices have a lifetime warranty.
- Can the Merchant swap a leased device for different one? No. Instead, the Merchant would be charged the remainder of the existing lease - and a new lease agreement would be entered into for a different device.
FAQs
- Can we still use V1 once updated to Fullsteam Payments? Or must we update to V2? With Fullsteam Payments (which is Stripe) you can still use V1.
- Is Fullsteam Payments something different? Is it a payment gateway ?
Fullsteam Payments is a gateway and processor package. The gateway is Stripe and the processor is in-house built. US clients have to be on Fullsteam Payments to get v2 front end to use all of its benefits. - What specific features will we be missing if we don't do the migration?
All the new features will be built to work with V2, plus all new customer facing features announced at C7 Innovate (here is a link to documentation outlining the new front-end features - https://documentation.commerce7.com/innovate-2021) - Can the migration to the new version be done without changing payment processors--and if so, what features will we be missing?
Switching to Fullsteam Payments is a requirement to switch to V2. Unfortunately, CardConnect didn't meet the technical requirements for a V2 integration. - I have just recently switched to Poynt/Card Connect, what options do I have now? Please reach out to us so we can discuss options. We are willing to work with any winery that finds themselves in this position. Send your concerns to support@commerce7.com
- What info is captured when a card is tapped with Fullsteam Payments?
If a Customer is appended to the Order prior to charging - and they tap a card - we tokenize that card - and we save that token on file to the Customer's account.
If a Customer is not appended to the Order prior to charging - (in other words, a Guest Order) - and they tap a card - we don’t save that token.
Note that on the Order Complete screen, we show their first/last name pre-filled in the email field. This makes it slightly easier to get the Customer's information if the staff member collects an email address post-charge. Once that email is captured, then that email becomes a Customer record. No token is saved since the the creation of the Customer occurred after the card was charged. - Why are the network/terminal/CG fees not deducted with the rest of my fees this month and when can I expect them? Fullsteam continues to streamline our billing process to align with our clients’ requests for 1st of the month billing - due to the lack of these fees being available for accurate billing, we are pushing these to the next month.
- Why are we billed a month later for the additional fees when the transaction fees are at the beginning of the month? Network/terminal/Gift Cards fees are not currently available for accurately billing our clients on the 1st of the month. To continue to process one debit for billing we will move these out a month. (They are minimal amounts).
- How can I calculate (estimate) these fees for my month end closing?
- Network Fees: should be around .15% -.30% based on monthly volume/transaction size/card entry method and card brand mix
- Terminal Lease fees: should not change from month to month unless new equipment is leased or returned
- Gift Card:
- Unlimited plans refer to the clients pricing plan for monthly fee
- Per transaction fee – refer to your client pricing plan - “Transaction summary Report” within merchant track will provide monthly counts for Gift card volumes
- Why does the statement show two different months’ worth of fees (example: January will show a combination of December processing fees and November other fees)?
- 1st of the month processing fees
- Network/Terminal/Gift Card Fees
