General Overview

  • Timeline & Support: The onboarding process typically takes 6 to 8 weeks, though this may vary depending on your specific needs. We recommend to launch at least 2 weeks prior to your next club processing. Throughout the process, you'll have a dedicated Onboarding Specialist to guide you and provide support whenever needed.
  • Billing: You won’t be billed by Commerce7 until you officially go live. We'll notify you when your Commerce7 billing begins and provide details about your final WineDirect invoice once you’ve launched.
  • Data Migration: Our team handles your data migration in-house at no cost to you. Your Onboarding Specialist will outline exactly what’s being transferred. We conduct two data migrations: a first migration at the start of your project and a final migration just before launch. Read more below for details.
  • Website Integration: We’ll connect you with a website design partner to ensure your site is seamlessly integrated with Commerce7- in most cases at no cost to you. If you’re currently using WineDirect CMS, our design partner can assist with new hosting set up, though any associated costs will be your responsibility. Note: if you are working with an existing web design agency and would prefer to work with them to migrate your website, you are welcome to do so at your own cost.

Phase 1: Kicking off 

Web Designer Introduction, First Data Migration, Payment Gateway Set up, Setup Guide 

  • Kick Off call: Establish and commit to a launch date
  • Introduction to the Setup Guide
  • Website: Introduction to a web designer
  • First Data Migration: Our in-house Data migration specialist will reach out to update you on progress after the first migration. 
  • Sign up for your new Payments Gateway

Phase 2: Build

Setup Guide Check-in, C7 Academy, Hardware Orders

  • Active Payments Gateway
  • Determine Hardware that will be needed (Printers, payment devices, etc.)
  • Check- in Call: Review set up & plan for launch
  • Continue working on the Setup Guide
  • Train users: C7 Academy 
  • Test (order, integrations/apps, workflows)
  • Schedule Pre-launch call

Phase 3: Launch

Completed Website, Enable Emails> Go Live, Final Data Migration


  • Pre-launch call: Final review
  • Complete the Setup Guide 
  • Final Data Migration: Our in-house Data migration specialist will reach out to you before the final data migrations start and provide details as it gets completed. 
  • Website public facing and pointing to Commerce7
  • Transactional emails are being sent
  • Schedule post-launch call

Commerce7 Data Migration Process

First Data Migration

After your Kickoff Call with your Onboarding Specialist, we’ll transfer all your data migration components into Commerce7.

While most data will be migrated a second time just before launch, some key data points - are only migrated once and it's important to get familiar with what edits can and can not be made. 

Final Data Migration

The final migration includes live data ( such as order, customers and others) and credit cards, ensuring all is up to date for your launch. This process takes place on or as close to your launch date as possible to provide the freshest data.

Completion & Error Handling

Our Data Migration Specialist will notify you once both migrations are complete. If any data errors occur, we’ll send you an email with instructions on how to correct them. You’ll have until the final migration date to make any necessary adjustments.
