Why are Out of State Taxes for a Tasting Fee When it is Part of a Shipped Order in the POS?

To avoid being charged out-of-state tax on a shipped POS order for a tasting fee, we suggest processing the tasting fee separately from the Products intended for shipping.

If the tasting fee is not processed separately, it will be subject to the tax rate of the destination where the order is being shipped.

If you want to set it up so that tasting fees are never taxed, check the 'not taxable' box on the tasting fee Product itself.
