How are slugs generated?
Slugs are generated from the product title which gets "slugified" by removing special characters and replacing spaces with hyphens.
What does the error mean?
If the "Slug is not unique" error comes up when making a new product, it essentially means that the product title is not unique, or at least is similar enough to another product title that they are identical when they're slugified.
How can I resolve it?
The way to resolve the issue is to edit the product title since the slug is not editable directly.
