Merging or Combining POS Carts
Combine carts for Customers who have multiple open Carts
In a busy tasting environment, it can be challenging to know if a Customer already has a Cart/Tab open. This is an easy way to identify and merge Carts for the same Customer.
Scenario #1: Beginning with a NEW CART
- Click the 'New' link at the top of the page to begin a new Cart.
- Search for the Customer's name.
- If the Customer you choose already has an open Cart on that POS Profile, and is assigned to the same Sales Associate, you will see a prompt.
- Selecting 'Add New Cart' will proceed with creating a new Cart as usual.
- Choosing 'Use Existing Cart' will direct you to the existing Cart without adding a new one.
Scenario #2: Beginning with an EXISTING GUEST CART
- You already have an existing Guest Cart. Click the 'Add Customer' link.
- Search for the applicable Customer.
- If the Customer you choose already has an open Cart on that POS Profile, and is assigned to the same Sales Associate, you will see a prompt.
- Choosing 'Keep Carts Separate' will simply add the customer to the current (new) Cart without merging them.
- By selecting 'Combine Carts', the items from the initial Cart will be merged with the second Cart. The second Cart will be removed, resulting in a single consolidated Cart.
