Placing a Test Order While in Onboarding

If your launch date is approaching within the next 60 days, it is recommended that you process one (or more) test orders. This step is crucial for verifying that your payment gateway is configured correctly and will initiate the PCI compliance fees.

Placing a Test Order

  1. Navigate to Store > select Add Order.
  2. Add a customer by searching or adding a new customer.
  3. Add a Product and click the Edit link under the Product name.
  4. Manually enter $50.01 to the Unit Price override field and Save. (You can place either a single order or multiple orders, as long as the total amount that settles exceeds $50.00). Screen Shot 2025-07-28 at 4.06.05 PM
  5. Charge the card.
  6. Wait until this charge has batched to your bank (which takes a couple of business days).
  7. Once the charge has batched to your bank, feel free to refund the charge.

Not launching for awhile?

If your launch date is still more than 60 days away, it is best to postpone the $50.01 test charge for now. Processing this amount through the payment gateway will activate PCI compliance fees, so it's wise to wait and perform the test charge closer to your actual launch date.

Nonetheless, it is still advisable to verify your payment gateway by processing a $1.00 test order. This minimal charge will help confirm that your setup is functioning correctly without incurring any PCI compliance fees.
