Integrating HelpScout to Commerce7.

IMPORTANT: The Help Scout integration app for Commerce7 is owned and built by a 3rd party developer (Treefrog Digital). For questions regarding custom reports, setup, or support, please contact hello@treefrogdigital.com.

Setup 

To get started with the Help Scout-Commerce7 integration, log in to Commerce7 and click on Apps from the main menu. Click on the Help Scout app and a pop-up window will appear.

Once the pop-up window appears, scroll down to the Secret Key input box and type a maximum of 40 characters secret keyword. Please remember this password since it will be required in a later step.

Now you need to build your custom app on Help Scout following the next steps:

  1. Log in to Help Scout
  2. From the top menu go to Manage > Apps

3. Scroll down until you find the button 'Build a Custom App' and click on it.

4. Click on the 'Create App' button from the left sidebar.

5. Fill the form as follows:

App Name: Commerce7

Content Type: Dynamic Content

Callback Url: https://5j1ozi4tx3.execute-api.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/dev/helpscout/{tenantId}

Change the {tenantId} for your own Commerce7 tenant id. This can be obtained from the URL on your Commerce7 instance and it would be the part that appears before the  .admin.platform.commerce7.com.

In the example above the tenant Id is treefrog-digital, so the Callback Url would be: https://5j1ozi4tx3.execute-api.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/dev/helpscout/treefrog-digital

Security Key: This is the same key you provided on Commerce7 when you installed the app.

Mailbox: Choose the mailbox you would like to link

6. Click on the Save Button

Now your app is configured and you will see the Commerce7 clients’ information on your Help Scout mailbox sidebar.

The Help Scout integration offers a complete picture of your customers’ experience and data across platforms, so you can provide top-notch customer service and support.

  • Display up to 5 of the customer’s most recent orders.
  • Access the customer phone number.
  • Access the order details in a single click.
  • View key metrics such as lifetime value, gross profit, current club membership, order count and last order date.
