Gift Card Importer Tool

Import or Update Gift Cards in Bulk with the Gift Card Importer

Gift cards can be imported or updated in bulk through a CSV file. Update core details such as Title, Expiry Date, and Notes, and add funds to the existing balance.

Using the Importer Tool

  1. From the Dashboard, go to Store
  2. Choose Gift Cards
  3. Click the Actions button
  4. Choose Import Gift Cards

  5. Download the CSV template and fill it out. 
  6. Add the file to the uploader section and click the Upload File button.

Filling Out the CSV Template

Required fields and formatting considerations:
 
Column Required? Formatting Considerations
Title No Creates with entered title, if a Title isn’t entered, create a gift card with 'Gift Card'. 
Type Yes   Options: Physical, Virtual
Status Yes   Options: Active, Cancelled
Code No
  • Must be >= 8 characters, must be unique
  • If not entered, one will be generated automatically
  • If wanting to update a gift card, enter in the existing Code - this will match the updates to take place for this gift card
Amount Yes
  • Decimal, up to 2 decimal places
  • Sets the gift card balance
  • If using the importer to update an existing gift card, this value will be ADDED to the current balance
Expiry Date No   Format: YYYY-MM-DD
Notes No --

 

If updating a gift card with the importer, blank columns in the import file will not delete that data.

  • For example, if you enter in an existing Code to update an existing Gift Card, and then leave the Notes column blank, any existing Notes will be retained.
